Brooklyn, NY

Today, I woke up around 9am and got ready to explore Williamsburg, Brooklyn. First, me and my two course-mates went to East 34th street on the Manhattan boarder to catch a ferry ride across the East river to get to North Williamsburg. It was amazing to see Queens and Brooklyn from across the river. The first thing I noticed waiting for the ferry, was that I saw a Steven Holl architecture of the Hunters Point Community Library in Queens. From only researching about him about a week ago, I found it amazing that I got to see and recognised one of his buildings.

My first day in New York

Today, I woke up in Hotel Wolcott, Midtown Manhattan feeling slightly drained from yesterdays travels from Heathrow to Newark. After our 8 hour flight, we had to queue to get through customs which took about 2 hours! Waking up feeling slightly rested, we then went down into the “lobby” (as Americans say), and took advice from our lecturer to head up towards the Rockefeller Center and advised us to go and look at the Bergdorf Goodman department store. This was great for looking at the visual merchandising as the shop windows are said to be amazing. They did not let me down. Beautiful!

Im Going To New York tomorrow!!!!!!!!

Tomorrow is going to be such an amazing day for me. Im going to NEW YORK CITY!!!!! I feel this is a great opportunity to go to some exhibitions and see what places make New York different to other cities. Since a young girl i've always wanted to go to America, especially NYC. Sex and the City is one of my favorite series and inspired my love for fashion so this to me is a great opportunity to explore New York culture. Tomorrow i'm flying out from Heathrow and landing in Newark International Airport in New Jersey. For the last few days, the East Coast of the US has had major freezing temperatures and weather problems causing cancellations of flights, but hopefully now its starting to slightly warm up, even though it will still be freezing, that our flight runs smoothly.
