'Let's Dance' By Corinne Day Vogue 2004

Yesterday, in my uni seminar, me and my team were given some images from an editorial from an old issue of Vogue, to take apart and analyse the images to try and find 5 key words that describe the editorial all together. In our case, we were given an issue of Vogue from May 2004, with an editorial called 'Let's Dance'. The photographer who took these images was Corinne Day. In my opinion I love the way this photoshoot was done as dance as a subject is thought to be beautiful and enjoyable. However, in this editorial it shows a dark and lonely side to the profession. After our seminar, we went to the library to look at the issue we were given in the Vogue archive. After finding it, we took images of the editorial so that we could refer back to it (which are in my main image of this blog).

Corinne Day was a British photographer whose influence on the style and perception of photography in the early 1990s and onwards has been immense. In her early career, she worked for The Face magazine and then moved onto working for Vogue. Corinne Day is probably best known for working with Kate Moss and the work they done together when she was at such a young age of 15. To describe Day's style, I would say its raw, emotional and real. When looking at her work, it has a simplicity to it but has a real feeling or story behind it, almost like a journal of real peoples lives.
