Harry and Meghan - Engagement of the year

This Week, Prince Harry and American actress Meghan Markle announced that they are engaged to be married. The couple met in June 2016 and have been together since. The wedding is proposed to be set for Spring 2018. Unconventional and inspiring. Harry has broken tradition of the royal family's ways as he's set to marry someone who's in the public eye and an American Actress! This could be seen as controversial to some. Meghan Markle, Born and raised in California, USA, was brought up by a very normal, working class family. Her parents divorced when she was only six years old and as a positive and loving influence, her father, Thomas Markle, got her into acting. Furthermore, she graduated with a degree in theatre and international studies. 

Meghan Markle is a mixed-raced 36 year old woman who came from a family with not much money, and worked her way up to fame. To think she would one day be part of the royal family must be a huge shocker for her and her family. This to me, shows how far the royal family has come to be part of the modern world in terms of relationships and choosing whoever they fall in love with instead of pressure of publicity and stature. Prince Harry's loveable personality and kind ways are quite clearly a trait brought down from his beautiful mother, Princess Diana. I feel Meghan's humble and positive approach to life are things in common with our prince Harry and I can imagine they will have a long and happy marriage.
