Say Bye To Fur!

In the past year, high end fashion designers have stopped their ongoing use of animal fur. As a great lover of animals, I couldn't be more happy as I feel the culture of wearing fur is starting to become more frowned upon in contrast to being a statement. With the most recent designers such as DKNY, Versace, Michael Kors and Gucci going fur free, I feel like this is a great direction for both big brands and small to be influenced by this positive movement. However, this could mean that independant brands see this as a gap in the market and something to invest in. I feel the big brands who stop doing it could mean wealthy people stop seeing fur as a statement rather than a dead animal.

Fashion Brands And Disabilities

Mama Cax - Model
Today, I read an article on Glamour.com about how fashion brands should cater more to people with disabilities. As a person who can be quite ignorant about the world going on around me, I didn't quite realise how much of a problem buying or even putting clothes on can be for some people. I read three short experiences that disabled people had to go through, two of them included having to alter the clothes they buy, making them easier to put on and accessible and I read one of the woman who has dwarfism often gets told to look in the kids section. This completely shocked me. Obnoxious and ridiculous, why would adult want to shop in the kids section for themselves.
